fic.chat is an AI-assisted novel creation platform. Whether you're an experienced author or trying writing for the first time, the AI assistant helps you go from a simple idea to a complete outline, chapter prose, character profiles, and world settings.

Core Concepts

Before you start, understanding these key concepts will help you get the most out of the platform:

Outline: The skeleton of your story, organized in three levels — Summary → Volume → Chapter
Chapters: The actual prose content generated by AI based on chapter outlines
Characters: People in your story, created automatically by AI and enrichable with deep profiles
Foreshadowing: Plot threads planned by AI and automatically tracked across chapters
World Settings: The rules, geography, history, and other settings of your story world

Creation Workflow

Creating a novel typically follows these steps:

Go to Studio → My Works, click New Story
Enter an inspiration description — AI automatically generates a title, summary, genre, characters, and outline
In the outline editor, adjust chapter settings and choose the volume/chapter structure
Use the AI assistant to generate chapter prose one chapter at a time
View and refine character profiles in the Characters panel
Plan and track plot threads in the Foreshadowing panel

Studio Interface

The Studio editor has three main areas:

Left — Outline tree: shows the hierarchical story structure (Summary, Volume, Chapter). Click a node to edit or generate content
Center — Content view: displays the detailed content of the selected node, including chapter prose
Right — AI Assistant: provides AI actions relevant to the current selection (generate outlines, write chapters, enrich characters, etc.)

Your First Story

The easiest way to start is with the Inspiration Generation feature. When creating a new story, describe what you want to write — for example: 'A programmer transmigrates into a cultivation world where code is magic.' AI will automatically generate a complete novel skeleton for you to continue building on.
